Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search box is sent to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep a separate log of search terms on our own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained long enough to review and answer it. We keep that correspondence within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal duty.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our systems receive routine technical details when a visitor loads a page:
- Page-view dates, times, and visit duration
- Browser name and version
- Device category and operating system
- Pages opened during the visit
- Referring website, when available
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files that help measure how the site is used, such as which pages draw traffic and where visits end. Analytics providers combine those usage signals into reports. A browser can reject cookies, although disabling them may change how some site functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a query to the selected search partner
- Finding and repairing performance or technical faults
- Maintaining reliable, fast page delivery
- Measuring which resources visitors use
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not host, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Rockcastle County information here is general routing material for the sheriff, Circuit Court Clerk, Kentucky State Police Criminal Identification and Records Branch, and Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not assembled into a third-party criminal record or consumer report, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies supply the site's search tools. A partner's privacy policy governs information submitted through its box, including its retention and disclosure rules. We do not control those rules. Review the provider's policy before entering a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to courts, law enforcement, Kentucky agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows one, the destination site's privacy terms apply. Check those terms before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted ads.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Analytics providers measuring site performance
- Search companies processing a submitted query
- Advertising networks serving content on the pages
- A government body when disclosure is compelled by a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected information. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone younger than 18. Information identified as belonging to a minor will be removed when a proper request is received.
Your Data Rights
The Kentucky Open Records Act governs records held by public agencies, while 502 KAR 30:060 governs Kentucky State Police criminal-history dissemination. Those authorities do not turn this private site into a government records custodian. Depending on applicable law and the facts, available privacy requests may include:
- Requesting access to information associated with you
- Seeking deletion where applicable
- Asking that inaccurate information be corrected
- Objecting to certain processing where the law provides that choice
Updates to This Policy
